An Bord Pleanála’s struggles delay hundreds of builds

The number of planning permissions across home and commercial builds, as well as infrastructure projects, that were delayed beyond the statutory goal of 18 weeks hit 552 by November 2018.

The building of hundreds of homes and other planning permissions were held up last year as An Bord Pleanála struggled with depleted staff numbers and resources, new freedom of information records show.
