Bord Gáis commences work on two gas power plants as part of a €250m investment

The privately-owned energy company is set to build two gas-fired power plants in Dublin and Roscommon, which will add 200MW in power generation capacity to the national grid

Bord Gáis Energy, the privately-owned energy company, has commenced construction work on two gas-fired power plants in Dublin and Roscommon that are set to be operational by 2024.

The company announced this week it will spend more than €250 million to develop the two new power plants, which will add an additional 200 megawatts (MW) in power capacity to the national power system – enough to power around 100,000 homes.
