Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for the disposal/recycling of batteries is being proposed as a key part of the redrafted Battery Directive, which was originally transposed into Irish law in 2008

The recycling of batteries from electric cars is central to the sustainability of the electro-mobility revolution, according to Elizabeth O’Reilly, compliance manager with electrical waste organisation WEEE Ireland.
