Bar Council chair: Diversity policy will be expanded to include several minority groups

A policy which seeks to encourage law firms to brief more women barristers will be extended to people of colour and other minority groups in the future, the new chair of the Bar Council has said.
Sara Phelan SC said it was important that barristers were “relevant” to society and in order to do that they must also “reflect society”.
