Banks' tracker actions 'disgraceful', Donohoe tells Dáil

Warnings of further action if government not satisfied with outcome of bank meetings

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe has told the Dáil mortgage holders affected bythe tracker mortgage scandal have been treated “disgracefully” by the banks.

He added that he had made this clear to the chief executives of the five main retail banks after meetings with them over the past two days.

Donohoe said the government was not satisfied with the progress lenders had made in engaging with the Central Bank’s investigation and compensating customers.
