Bank of Ireland targets higher dividend despite drop in profits

While the lender was hit with an impairment charge, it said 2022 was an exceptional year for the group

Profits at Bank of Ireland dropped to under €900 million last year, however the lender said its performance for 2022 was exceptionally strong.

The company said it will now seek to increase its dividend payout to investors as part of its strategy.

In full year results published this morning, the company reported a profit of €897 million for 2022, down from €1.06 billion in 2021.
