Bank of Ireland brings back bonus payments up to €20,000 for all staff

It marks a return to bonuses for the first time since the lender was bailed out by the state during the crash

Bank of Ireland has announced a profit-sharing scheme, bringing back bonus payments for the first time since being bailed out during the financial crisis.

Bank of Ireland said its new performance-related “profit share scheme” will evaluate workers based on their performance during 2023. Based on this, as well as the financial performance of the bank, the company expects to pay out bonuses in April 2024.
