Average earnings little changed over past year

Official figures show that average earnings across the economy fell during the second quarter of this year, though they are still up compared with the same period a year earlier.

The Central Statistics Office said preliminary estimates showed that average weekly earnings were €703.83 in the second quarter, down 1.3 per cent from the first quarter but a rise of 0.5 per cent from a year earlier.
