Many manufacturers are moving away from diesel, in the wake of the scandal that engulfed the Volkswagen Group – and the wider motoring industry – in late 2015. Further studies into NOx tailpipe emissions, rather than CO2, seemed to have sounded the death knell for diesel as an automotive fuel and customers have been favouring cleaner, modern petrol models and hybrid/electric vehicles instead.
