Artists clash with labels in royalties rumble
Alleged in court that its members had lost out on €2.8 million
The Commercial Court looks set for a further music industry showdown over claims that record labels are putting the squeeze on royalties due to performers.
Last October, Recorded Artists Actors Performers (RAAP) alleged in court that its members had lost out on €2.8 million in revenue in a row with music licensing body Phonographic Performers Ireland (PPI).
RAAP represents around 3,500 Irish musicians including U2, Van Morrison, Hozier and The Chieftains.
