Art gallery owners win their planning battle over Dublin aparthotel project

A Dublin council ruling that derailed an aparthotel project – saying housing was more urgently needed in the city than hotels – has been overturned.

Last year, gallerists Bryan and Kathryn Murphy applied to demolish an old warehouse at 12 Pembroke Row to build a 28-room aparthotel. An art gallery, called the Murphy Gallery, would also be created on the ground floor as part of the plans.
