Apple to give December bonus of €1,000 to Cork manufacturing staff to settle pay dispute

Tech giant has also agreed to grant 9.25 per cent rise to the workers over next two years following threat of industrial action

Apple is to pay out tax-free bonuses worth €1,000 to manufacturing workers at its Irish operation this December and grant a 9.25 per cent raise over the next two years.

The move puts an end to the threat of industrial action at the tech giant’s Cork plant, which emerged over the summer after workers voted to reject a Labour Court pay recommendation amid soaring inflation and rising living costs.
