Apple may be forced to pay ten years’ back tax to Revenue

Tech giant has revealed two of its subsidiaries in Ireland were under investigation by the European Commission

Apple says it’s unable to quantify the amount of penalties it would face from the European Commission in the event it is found to have had a sweetheart tax arrangement with the Revenue Commissioners.

In a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission last week alongside its annual results, the company said that up to ten years of back tax could be on the line.
