Animal charity rejects repeated demands to fix governance issues

Kerry charity Animal Heaven Animal Rescue has repeatedly rejected requests from the Charities Regulator to rectify serious problems with its governance.

While the board previously agreed to facilitate the appointment of trustees nominated by the Charities Regulator, last week it refused to appoint the watchdog’s nominees: ISPCA chief Andrew Kelly and David Hall, chief executive of the Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation and former interim chief executive at suicide bereavement charity Console.
