Ireland’s divisive abortion debate is full of tragic and heartbreaking personal stories from brave women who speak openly about travelling to terminate their pregnancies.
These women do it primarily to highlight the issue of Ireland’s restrictive abortion laws and, by and large, hold pro-choice views. Their accounts feed into the various campaigns to repeal Ireland’s constitutional ban on abortion, known as the Eighth Amendment, and often their stories are directed at politicians.
