30 garda stations and special units to receive upgrades in multimillion euro plan
A new €60 million euro scheme will see five new garda stations built with upgrades and refurbishments to other facilities across the country
Five new garda stations are to built and a further seven will receive significant refurbishment while others will be upgraded as part of a major government plan.
An Garda Síochána's Building and Refurbishment Programme 2016 – 2021 will see new stations built in Macroom, Co Cork; Clonmel, Co Tipperary; Sligo town; Glanmire, Co Cork and Bailieborough, Co Cavan. The majority of these will be completed through Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
