Swiss pharma company Roche has announced it is closing its manufacturing site in Co Clare with the loss of 240 jobs.

The oncology drug specialist, which has had a medical manufacturing plant in Clarecastle since 1974, will retain a sales operation in the Irish market employing around 90 people.
