Zara owner Inditex reports fastest annual profit growth in three years

Net income at the world's largest clothing retailer rose by 15% to €2.88 billion

Net income rose 15 per cent to €2.88 billion in the period through January 31, the owner of the Zara and Massimo Dutti brands said. Analysts expected €2.9 billion, according to the average estimate. Revenue gained 15 per cent in the start of this quarter, on an adjusted basis, maintaining last year’s growth rate.

Since its 2001 initial public offering, the retailer has boosted its sales more than sixfold through aggressive expansion of its eight chains....
