The state’s move to ease building height rules has prompted the developer of a hotel on the old Andrew’s Lane Theatre site to apply for an extra storey to the development.

Appalachian Property Holdings Limited, controlled by KeyWaste owners Neville O’Boyle and Mark Butler, secured planning permission to construct a new €21 million “compact luxury hotel” on Andrew’s Lane in February 2018 after a protracted application process....
