Irish Times reports on the sharp disagreement between President Michael Higgins and the North's first Minister Arlene Foster after the latter said that the 1916 leaders were egoists "who were doing it to bring glory on themselves".

- The murder rate in Ireland is at its lowest rate in twenty years with 30 in the state last year. A total of 25 murders were recorded in 1994.
