Waterford Crystal workers awaiting pension payouts

Former Waterford Crystal workers are still waiting for pension payouts after backing a multimillion euro government pension deal last year, and must sign a declaration of full and final settlement before payments will be made, the government has conf

The Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton, has said that “every effort is being made to implement the terms of the agreement as soon as possible”.

Last December the cabinet signed off on plans to pay out pensions to former Waterford Crystal workers.

The €178 million package came after a long battle by former Waterford Crystal workers over pension benefits, following the closure of the iconic company in 2009....
