A report says the US Treasury Department is set to launch a fresh attack on the European Commission over its investigation into Apple's tax arrangements in Ireland.
“This shift in approach appears to expand the role of the [competition directorate] beyond enforcement of competition and state aid law . . . into that of a supranational tax authority that reviews member state” decisions on corporate tax, the FT quotes the document as saying.
