Upgrade our venue or pay, Cosgrave tells Lisbon Web Summit’s contract with host city revealed

Lisbon city council will have to pay compensation to the Web Summit if it does not upgrade a conference centre by October, according to local reports.

The Portuguese newspaper Publico has published parts of the contract which the capital city agreed as part of its plans to invest €110 million to keep the event until 2028. The reports also state that the contract includes an obligation that the Portuguese prime minister is requested by the...
