The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has said it is considering the proposed merger of Paddy Power and Betfair, with a decision on the deal expected on January 7.

The CMA will consider whether the combination of the two companies will result in a substantial lessening of competition in the UK for goods or services.
