Donald Trump caused further controversy yesterday as the US President took a potshot at France, just as he headed to the G7 Summit being hosted in Biarritz.

He threatened raising taxes on French wines in retaliation for tax moves on US tech firms, and signalled his wish to bring Russia back into the G7 (thus making it the G8 again) following its expulsion after the invasion of Crimea in early 2014.
