Troops deployed in transportation, sandbagging and meal preparation

Defence Forces on standby in barracks to aid flood relief efforts

The Defence Forces deployed troops to several locations yesterday to support local authorities and communities in flood relief efforts.

Troops and vehicles swung into action at Cork where transportation helped to facilitate access at Carraigrohane Straight.

In Clare personnel worked transportation and water pumps in Clonlara.
