Tourism Ireland has launched details of its plans to promote the island of Ireland overseas next year as it aims to build on the success of 2016. The following are the key points from the launch:

- This year is set to be the best year ever for Irish tourism with 10.5 million visitors, an 11 per cent increase on 2015

- Overseas visitors generated revenue of €5.4 billion, a 10 per cent increase on last year
