The grim toll of Facebook’s graveyard shift

Chris Gray says he developed PTSD after a few months of working for Facebook as a content moderator, during which he viewed countless images of graphic and violent acts. His claims are detailed in new legal papers filed in the High Court and seen by this newspaper

Prior to working as a content moderator for Facebook in Dublin, Chris Gray was “a successful and happy person who had achieved much in a broad, interesting and varied life”.

He previously served in the Royal Air Force and owned his own home by 23. At one point he employed 30 people in a business in Germany. He travelled to more than 50 countries, hitch hiked across the Sahara desert and raced ocean going sailing ...
