Sunny spell sees sizzling sales for retail

It seems we are all screaming for ice cream during the heatwave, with Supermac’s seeing a huge increase in the sales of the warm weather treat.

“Certainly in the coastal regions, ice cream sales are double what they were. They are up a minimum of 50 per cent right across the country but up to over 100 per cent in lots of locations,” Pat McDonagh, owner of Supermac’s, said.
