State ‘missed golden opportunity’ to get people out of cars, says e-scooter founder

The state squandered a golden opportunity to get more people using alternative forms of transport in and around the Covid pandemic by not legislating for electric scooters, Damian Young, founder of Zeus Scooters, has claimed.

Speaking as the e-scooter service provider confirmed it has secured a further €5 million in backing, Young said it was “embarrassing” that Zeus was expanding in multiple countries but was unable to roll out services in Ireland.
