There was undoubtedly a touch of glamour about Theresa Lowe and Frank McNamara’s visit to the Four Courts last week. It is, after all, not every day that the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Burt Bacharach are namechecked in a ruling.

The couple might say a little prayer was answered when Mr Justice Denis McDonald said he would write off €2.9 million in debts after their effort to secure a personal insolvency arrangement (PIA)...
