Spin doctors benefit from PR spend by hospital groups

Tallaght Hospital paid the highest fees for PR services

St Vincent's Hospital is paying MKC Communications a monthly retainer of 4,000

Hospital groups are paying up to €138,000 per year in fees to PR firms, while individual hospitals within those groups are also paying up to €81,000 in annual PR fees, an investigation by this newspaper has revealed.

Setanta Communications was paid €138,000 in 2014 to provide media services to the Saolta hospital group in the West.
