Snow alert: motorists warned to take care on the roads

Icy weather expected to cause travel problems today

Snow and ice are making driving conditions difficult on the morning commute.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for Leinster along with counties Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.

It is warning of frost and icy patches with some sleet and snow showers at times, especially on high ground. There is also a risk at lower levels, with possibly accumulations of between 1 to 3cm of snow.
