Simon Harris been called upon to lift the ban on gay men donating blood in Ireland, after today's decision by Sinn Fein's minister for health in Northern Ireland to lift the lifetime ban there.

Northern Ireland will on September 1 lift the lifetime ban on gay men donating blood, the North’s new Minister for Health Michelle O’Neill announced today.
