Google is being investigated for the “most massive leakage of personal data recorded so far”, according to the expert who gave evidence to the Irish privacy watchdog.

The Data Protection Commission (DPC) opened its first probe into the ad giant last week under rules which mean it can issue a fine up to 4 per cent of annual turnover, which would be billions.
