Serie A’s €18m slips down priority list for collapsed agency MP & Silva

The debt arises from a 2014 distribution rights deal between the league, home to Juventus and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, and the sports media firm, which is now to be wound up

Italy’s top flight football league Serie A has failed to secure priority for an outstanding €18 million debt owed by an Irish offshoot of “hopelessly insolvent” global media player MP & Silva.

The Commercial Court action was brought by Infront Partners, an agent acting for Serie A, in the face of an imminent winding up petition of the Irish company brought by the group’s British liquidators.
