President leads tributes to the Dublin born actor who passed away peacefully in her sleep

Maureen O'Hara has died in her home in the US at the age of 95.

One of Ireland's most famous screen performers, she starred alongside such leading names as John Wayne, Alec Guinness and Henry Fonda.

In a career that spanned seven decades, the red-haired actress was best known for her role in the Quiet Man.
