Sale of sought-after Dublin bar ‘under investigation’

The Globe Bar has attracted strong interest from buyers

The sale of one of the best-known nightspots in Dublin city is “currently under investigation”, its bank-appointed receiver has told The Sunday Business Post.

Court papers seen by this newspaper reveal that property developer Greg Kavanagh was poised to buy The Globe on South Great Georges Street for €2.7 million, having put down a €400,000 deposit.

Receiver Tom Kavanagh declined to say why that deal had not yet proceeded or to comment further...
