RTÉ workers considering protests over controversial employment contracts

Workers at RTÉ are considering industrial action as issues over controversial employment contracts have still not been resolved.

Some 106 contractors at RTÉ were found to have “attributes akin to employment”, an Eversheds report found last June. RTÉ, the National Union of Journalists and Siptu are now in dispute over paying these contractors retrospectively for benefits they would have been entitled to if they had been treated as employees.
