RTÉ secures rights for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Deal with Discovery includes expanded Winter Games coverage

RTÉ has agreed a deal with Discovery Communications to secure the exclusive free-to-air television and multi-platform broadcast rights for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 and the 2018 Winter Olympics in the South Korean city of PyeongChang.

Discovery secured exclusive rights in Europe for Olympic events from 2018 to 2024 under a 2013 deal with the International Olympic Committee.
