RTÉ says head of news Kevin Bakhurst to leave broadcaster

Bakhurst is taking up a role as content group director for Ofcom in the UK

RTÉ said that Kevin Bakhurst, the managing director of its news and current affairs division, is to leave the broadcaster in October to take up a position as content group director for Ofcom, the UK communications regulator.

Dee Forbes, managing director of Discovery Networks Northern Europe, was named as the new director general of the national broadcaster earlier this year and took up the job last month.
