Proposals to slash exorbitant personal injury claims may be delayed until next year, after the establishment of the Judicial Council.
An unpublished report is calling on judges to address Ireland’s compensation culture, with awards for soft tissue injuries here nearly five times higher than in Britain.
The findings by the Personal Injuries Commission (PIC), chaired by retired judge Nicholas Kearns, follow an international benchmarking process based on a trawl of unpublished insurance data.
