Private sector rents up almost 9% since last year

Dublin rents now 2.3 per cent lower than 2007 peak

Monthly rents for private sector accommodation rose by 8.6 per cent at the end of September this year compared with the same period last year.

Nationally, rents for houses were 7.7 per cent higher, while apartment rents were 9 per cent higher than in Q3 of 2014.

In monetary terms, the rent for private sector accommodation across the whole country in Q3, 2015, was €901 – up from €830 in Q3, 2014.
