Pressure on troubled credit union Citybus to merge

Citybus, a Dublin-based credit union that is at the centre of an investigation into serious financial irregularities, is coming under pressure to merge or be taken over.

Sources have told this newspaper that regulators believe the best outcome for the credit union is a tie up with a stronger entity.

The situation regarding its future is complicated by the ongoing Garda investigation into matters surrounding its prize draw.
