Presidential poll: Higgins miles ahead at 68 per cent

President Michael D Higgins is on course for a clear victory in Friday’s presidential election, according to the latest Sunday Business Post/Red C Poll.

He has increased his lead over his nearest rival Seán Gallagher, with 68 per cent of those polled saying they would give him their first preference compared to 12 per cent for Gallagher. Higgins’s support has increased by one point over last month’s poll, while Gallagher’s has dropped...
