Pound surges as polls favour 'Remain'

Sterling was headed for its biggest gain in three months

Sterling surged by 1.5% in London

Sterling volatility retreated to a one-week low after a poll from Survation taken June 17-18 for the Mail on Sunday newspaper showed “Remain” backed by 45 per cent and “Leave” by 42 per cent, reversing positions from Survation’s previous survey. The pound gained at the end of last week after campaigning for this Thursday’s referendum was suspended following Cox’s death....
