Pope: Abuse a source of pain and shame

The Pope arrived into the same courtyard in Dublin Castle where recent celebrations were held after the Yes vote in the same sex marriage referendum and the repeal of the Eighth Amendment

There was one man who stopped to kiss the hand of Pope Francis as he left St Patrick’s Hall in Dublin Castle – and it turned out to be a gay Irish Catholic.

Con Buckley, originally from Mayo, was not even expecting to be there. But he had been given an invitation at short notice to the tightly policed event from Minister for Children Katherine Zappone as a representative of the LGBT community.
