Panti’s bar on hold over fire safety fears

Penny Lane investor Bourke says required licence is ‘part of a process and the process is considerable’ and ‘arduous’

Penny Lane, the new Dublin city centre bar backed by drag artist Panti Bliss, aka Rory O’Neill, has been forced to pause its launch plans while it seeks a fire safety certificate.

The bar, where publican and restaurateur Jay Bourke is also involved, needs adjustments to be made to the premises to comply with fire safety. It must then go back to the Circuit Court to seek approval.
