Opel Zafira owners urged to contact garages over spontaneous fires

Alert comes after car burst into flames this morning in Passage West, Cork

Thousands of Irish owners of Opel Zafiras are being advised to contact their local garage after a series of spontaneous fires in the cars.

RTE.ie is reporting that the most recent fire happened this morning in Cork when a man driving his Open Zafira was about to board the ferry from Passage West to Cobh, and a fire started in the dashboard.

He managed to escape, but the car was destroyed.
