O’Donovan: I’m sticking to sport gender quotas plan

Sports bodies face funding cuts unless 30 per cent of boards are women

Minister of State for Sport Patrick O’Donovan has said he is going to push on with gender quotas for sporting bodies, despite a public rebuke from Shane Ross.

O’Donovan sparked resistance from sporting bodies by declaring their state funding should be cut unless 30 per cent of their governing boards were women by 2020.
